Nagaland is a mountainous state in northeastern India, known for its rich and vibrant tribal culture. Bordering Myanmar, it is home to 17 major indigenous tribes, each with its own unique customs, dialects, and traditional attire. English is the official language of the state.
The state's capital is Kohima, a city with a significant history from World War II, commemorated by the Kohima War Cemetery. The largest city and commercial hub is Dimapur. Nagaland is often referred to as the "Land of Festivals," with the annual Hornbill Festival being a major event that brings all the tribes together to showcase their heritage through dance, music, and food.
Agriculture is the backbone of its economy, with rice being the main staple crop. The state is also recognized for its unique handloom products, intricate bamboo and cane crafts, and being the home of the world's hottest chili, the Bhut Jolokia. Its rugged terrain, lush forests, and diverse flora and fauna make it a destination for adventure and nature lovers.
